I'm a huge fan of the "Battery tray for IKEA Skadis" and the fact it utilizes OpenScad. I was unable to modify it to accommodate half and half, so I exported a version without any battery holes and created them myself in Tinkercad. Make sure you check out the original design at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2535312. This setup allows you to store 8 AA and 8 AAA batteries simultaneously. It's extremely convenient.
