Battery Storage / Battery Box with Magnetic Lid
prusaprinters
I was looking for a large capacity battery holder for 16 AA or AAA batteries to store some IKEA LADDA rechargeable batteries. Nothing I found exactly fit the bill and worked for me so I decided to make my own.I made the lids magnetic because everything is better with magnets, right?!The magnets are:2mm Dia x 4mm Depth for the little guys4mm Dia x 3mm Depth for the larger one in the centre of the AA Storage. The magnets should be press fit but a little glue might help if your printer filament mix give a looser fit.If you print both containers you will need 16 of the little magnets and 2 of the larger ones. When inserting make sure they are the right way around to attract and not repel as once they are in they probably won’t come back out!I printed mine in Prusament PLA but any other materials should work just as well.Layer height and infill are fairly irrelevant whatever you normally use should work just fine. Edit: 23-02-24 As requested by RU Kidding Added models with magnets at main “compass points” using4x 4mm Dia x 3mm Depth for the AA Storage.4x 2mm Dia x 4mm Depth for the AAA Storage (4mm Dia x 3mm dont fit)As requested by Manguy dude Added models with slightly bigger tolerance for the magnets (they still need to be tight press fit really to avoid needing lots of glue)
