Battery powered LED base for Multicolored Lamp
thingiverse
I liked the illuminated crystal lamp but wanted to make it simpler so I built a base cover that slips over the following battery operated LED base and works with the original crystal that this is a remix from (I'll include both parts here for completeness). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073VL9FKY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The LED base uses (3) AAA batteries as well as a CR2025 battery in the remote. The AAA batteries I provided could fit better into the base as they are a little tight and not self centering and the remote battery appears to have a short range but it is good enough. The color cycling in "fade" mode was a bit too fast but then I found that the fade speed was adjustable in that mode using the brightness buttons on the remote to slow the color changing speed down. I like the static colors with the Kryptonite green color being one of my favorites. All crystals are the same color at any given time. I used the crystal top from the remix exactly how it was but I snipped out a little bit of excess plastic out of the bottom after it finished printing just to let a little more light up into the crystals. I also put a hole in the base cover to line up with the IR reciever in the LED base. If you want something other than a crystal top, it lifts right off and you can replace it with your own design. Enjoy!
