Battery Mount for QAV Piko 2 Inch Micro Quad
thingiverse
The QAV Piko 2" micro frame is an excellent choice, but the method used to secure the battery is a major drawback. A rubber band is employed, wrapped around the battery and engaging two "ears" on the frame. Removing and replacing the battery was an exercise in frustration for me, so I designed this extremely lightweight yet strong solution. Weighing in at less than 1.5 grams, this mount holds the battery perfectly, and is very easy to put on and take off. One notable change is the substitution of the supplied silicone pad with a ZEAL vibration-absorbing sheet. This sheet is excellent and sticky, ensuring it stays on the frame while also temporarily holding the battery in place during removal or replacement, making things much easier. I am extremely proud of this design because it is simple yet exceptionally effective for its purpose, and it represents a huge improvement over the original approach. The design offers three different height mounts that need to be adjusted based on the overall thickness (height) of the battery. The tallest is the Tattu 3sx850 mount, designed for a 23.4mm thick lipo, while the medium one is the NewBee 3sx350, suited for a 17mm thick lipo. The shortest is the Tattu 3sx450, intended for a 14.3mm thick lipo, all taking into account the use of ZEAL sheet (5mm thick). If your battery's thickness falls close to these dimensions, you can use one of these files; if not, just add a comment with your lipo's thickness and any variations in pad dimension.
