Battery Holder

Battery Holder

I'm having a frustrating experience with battery clutter. To solve this problem, I designed a simple battery case holder. The issue began when I charged my batteries and found myself constantly searching for them throughout the house. To create this holder, I started by building the part that would hold the batteries. However, upon completion, I realized it was not stackable, which led me to design a separate lid that could serve as a cover and also make the entire assembly stackable. As an extruded plastic enthusiast, I decided to use 3mm extruded plastic for the "lid" and 3mm white MDF for the actual box. The files containing these designs are listed on pages 1 and 2, titled "Case" and "Lid," respectively. You can easily adapt this design to accommodate either AA or AAA batteries, but be cautious when using the latter as they tend to tip over. This can lead to a wasted 30 minutes trying to retrieve them unless you glue your top part in place like I did. Additionally, ensure that the holes at the bottom of the holder align with those on the top to prevent the batteries from leaning at an angle. This project provided a satisfying outlet for my OCD tendencies.
