Battery cover replacement for ROTOR POWER
thingiverse
This is a replacement battery cover for the Powermeter from ROTOR's POWER series, the first generation introduced in 2012. I misplaced my original cover and found no available replacement online, which was unfortunate because options were limited. To solve this issue, I designed a new part that can be printed for €5.95 at meltwerk.com using SLS printing technology in the spring of 2020. This custom-made cover features an inner thread for secure installation. However, it felt slightly too large, but printer tolerance variations might also contribute to this discrepancy. To address the issue, I applied PTFE tape around the threads to adjust friction and achieve a watertight seal, as the original seal and spring were lost along with the cover. A 3mm foam insert bonded to the inside of the new cover replicates the function of the missing spring, ensuring reliable operation.
