Battery Cover for Coleco Alien Attack

I was looking for a way to secure the 4 C batteries inside this handheld game from 1981. This project is still a work in progress, but I'm not satisfied with the current latch mechanism. If not handled carefully, the cover can easily become a disposable item. I'd love to hear any suggestions on how to incorporate some flexibility into the tab design. I've also included the Fusion 360 file for anyone who wants to modify it and make improvements.
