This is a backpack for the 2019 PiWars badge created by 4tronix that allows it to be powered off 2xAAA batteries mounted behind it rather than via the USB port, making it much nicer to hang around your neck. P.S. Included a .step file for anyone who wishes to remix this support additional sensors etc connected to the data pins on the edge connector. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: i3 MK2S Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 10% Filament: SpannerHands, Rigid.ink PLA Pearl Red, White Notes: Supports are only needed from the build plate. None are needed for the overhang that hides the edge connector wires.rnrnWith a 0.2mm layer height, a filament change from Pearl Red to White was done on layer 16.2mm. Post-Printing ============= To wire this up:rn- Solder the red wire of the battery pack to one of the end contacts on the switchrn- Solder a red wire between the middle contact of the switch and VIN of the regulatorrn- Solder another red wire between VOUT of the regulator and the VCC pin on the edge connector (check the badge)rn- Solder a black wire between the GND pin of the edge connector (check the badge) and GND of the regulatorrn- Finally, solder the black wire of the battery pack to the same GND pin of the regulatorrnrnNote the wires from the switch need to be bent 90 degrees once the switch is installed so that the edge connector can be inserted correctly.rn Category: Electronics
