Battery and hand controller arm mount for Celestron Nexstar telescopes
thingiverse
This was designed to hold a TalentCell 11000mAH battery (model YB12011000-USB, which I purchased from Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016BJCRUO) to power my Celestron Nexstar 8SE telescope. The TalentCell battery has a higher capacity than the Celestron PowerTank, is cheaper, and is far smaller and lighter, making it mountable, so you don't have it at your feet to trip over. I previously mounted it on the tripod, but mounting it on the arm, where the hand controller normally sits, allows you to spin the telescope around as much as you like without having to worry about the power cable. This is especially nice if you are using the WiFi module and an android app to control the telescope. I included a socket to mount the hand controller in front of the battery (which actually holds it more securely than the arm slot). Also since the WiFi module tends to get in the way of the telescope if you plug it into the bottom, I made a version that holds an RJ12 splitter so you can instead plug the splitter into the hand controller socket, and then plug both the hand controller and WiFi module into the splitter, holding the WiFi module out of the way under the battery. It fits every generic two-way RJ12 splitter that I've seen, such as https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074PNCVHJ, but I don't know if it will fit the overpriced splitter that Celestron sells.
