Standing at 113m tall, Battersea Power Station claims top honors as Wandsworth's most imposing structure. Completed in 1953, it proudly holds the title of Europe's largest brick building. Noted architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott crafted this monumental piece, showcasing his talents alongside other renowned projects like the Tate Modern and iconic British Red Telephone Box. Energy production at the site halted in 1983, allowing decay to take hold and turning the station into a scene of neglect. A new chapter began unfolding when restoration efforts kicked off in May 2005. Battersea Power Station made its memorable debut on Pink Floyd's Animals album cover, featuring a massive inflatable pig strapped to one of four chimneys!
