Battat Driver Set with Part Organizer
thingiverse
My sons received two take-apart Battat toys this Christmas, and they're probably one of the best gifts they've ever gotten. The kits come with battery-powered drills, but I created these accessories to give them basic hand tool and organization practice. Don't over-tighten, apply proper pressure to a Phillips-head driver so you don't strip the screw, and avoid scattering small parts everywhere, etc. They work perfectly! On my to-do list is to reverse-engineer the screws, nuts, and other small parts for custom projects. Timelapse of the print: https://youtu.be/XvIGYAJ2jyc Print Settings: Printer: Fusion3 F400-S Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.25mm Infill: 25% Notes: These are designed to print without supports in the orientation seen in the part preview images. If your bridging performance isn't that great, you may need support. Three of the pictures I added show how mine came out without support. The 25% infill was to ensure the parts hold up to rough use. I didn't use a raft or a brim, but you may need one if you have trouble with adhesion. Post-Printing: I printed without supports, so post-processing is easy. Depending on your print settings, you may have to sand/trim the bottom of the drivers and handle so they will fit properly. I uploaded images to show these points. Assembly is just a matter of pushing the drivers into the handles. I didn't use glue since they fit snugly. You may have to apply a good bit of pressure, but they should slide all the way in if your printer is calibrated correctly. If you're having trouble getting them to fit, I would scale the driver portion down just a little bit - maybe 5% or less. How I Designed This: Reverse Engineering Process I could have designed something that was close, but I wanted everything to work exactly like the OEM bits. I scanned the bits with an Artec Space Spider 3D scanner and reverse-engineered the parts in SolidWorks. I designed the organizer and driver handle from scratch.
