batman bust v2

I set out to recreate my Batman bust, version two, with a few improvements. I started by deciding on a design concept that would blend well with the overall aesthetic of my apartment. This time around, I wanted to go for a more modern and sleek look. The original bust had a bit of an outdated feel to it, so I aimed to create something fresh and appealing. To begin, I printed out a template of Batman's head on cardstock. Next, I carefully cut it out with scissors, making sure the edges were smooth and even. This was my base shape, which I would build upon using different materials. For the body, I opted for a mix of foam board and cardboard. I wanted something sturdy yet lightweight, so I could easily attach the head later on. I cut two identical shapes from the foam board and glued them together, forming a solid core. Then, I wrapped the entire thing in strips of cardboard, creating a layered effect. The face was created using a combination of paper mache and paint. I applied multiple layers of papier-mâché to achieve a smooth finish, followed by several coats of primer and acrylic paint. The eyes were made from two small balls of aluminum foil, which I carefully shaped into the desired form. The cape was constructed from black felt, cut into a flowing shape that would drape elegantly around the bust. I attached it using hot glue, making sure it was secure yet still flexible. Finally, I added some finishing touches by painting the base a dark gray color and applying a coat of varnish to protect everything. After several hours of work, my new Batman bust v2 was complete.
