Batman Batarang
myminifactory
Inspired by Punished Props, I hand-drew this Batarang using Autodesk 123D Design. Drawing the right side first, then mirroring the second half was my process. I inset a snap hinge to connect them together seamlessly. And voila! Printed on a Form1+, it took about four hours each for the initial prints of just the Top left and Top right halves. Then, revisiting the model, I mirrored and merged the two separate Top halves with their equal Bottom halves, printing them simultaneously. As you can see in the post-print photos of the towering halves standing on the build plate, it's clear why normally you'd want to print your models on a Form1+ at a 45-degree angle. But knowing these were lightweight and that resin would easily pour off the Batarang blades without getting stuck, I took a calculated risk by setting the print quality low. I have some shop work ahead of me to refine the new full 3D prints, especially in the connection grooves. But I wanted to share my current progress and will update you on the results soon!
