bathroom exhaust fan to laser cutter exhaust
thingiverse
This is a custom adapter I built to repurpose my unused bathroom exhaust fan as an exhaust for my laser cutter. The design is tailored for use with standard 4" dryer exhaust flex pipe, which makes it perfect for installation in harsh winter conditions like those found in North Dakota where venting through windows isn't feasible. To secure the adapter firmly to the ceiling, I used two-way tape. I've included two files: a large format version suitable for printers like my FT-5 and a smaller 180X180 model that fits most common 3D printers such as Prusa I3 and its clones. The file was printed using a combination of settings. It has 4% rectilinear infill, 5 solid top layers, 3 solid bottom layers, and 3 outline/shell layers. If you find your printed part too weak, consider increasing the number of outline/shell layers for added strength. This adapter was designed in Fusion 360.
