Bat Brooche
thingiverse
I love watching those tiny bats flitting about on a summer's evening. And I always recall the lyrics: "...the last thing I see is my heart, still pounding, bursting free from my body and soaring away, like a bat out of hell..." Mine would be a friendly-looking bat - not an ominous one - so I thought a bat brooch might look great and I designed and sculpted one in Blender. One picture shows a Blender render, the next one is a real thing, which is the first cast made with pewter. Another one made of bronze will follow (I'll update the pictures). UPDATE: Pictures of the bronze casting have been added. I soldered a pin so I can wear it now. This is a thicker version that I created for easier sand-casting.
