Bastion Inspired Robotic Arm
thingiverse
Hello! ;-) I created this Bastion-Inspired Robotic Arm for fun and practice. The design was inspired by Blizzard's Overwatch game. It was modeled using Autodesk Inventor. You can check how it works here: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/TWDAUc1G264" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> The robotic arm has 5 degrees of freedom, and is moved by 4 Nema 17 stepper motors, 1 geared stepper motor, and a Tower Pro Sg90 Servo (which will be replaced soon). You can find the step file on my Grabcad: https://grabcad.com/library/bastion-inspired-robotic-arm-1 It runs with an Arduino Mega board and some of my messy electronics. However, RAMPS might also work for this project. I have developed firmware for it. For communication, I am using Python scripts that I wrote myself. I can share them someday after cleaning up my code ;-) I designed the arm to work with these funny compound planetary gears: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2054378 So thank you, Gear Down For What!
