Bastet was a mighty metamorph, highly sought after by Anubis before the Great Upheaval. Bastet refused Anubis and following a fierce battle had her soul torn asunder and scattered across Ranan'thur. In her final moment of life, Bastet cast a spell that blessed the land touched by her soul. The women of the region gained the ability to transform from human form into feline shape. Unfortunately, Anubis was able to alter the magic so that no Bastet dared rise against his army. If a woman transforms under anger, she will forever be trapped in feline form and consumed by irrational fury, becoming a true monstrous beast. The women of Ranan'thur will become true heroines, possessors of great power and control over their emotions. When a Bastet loses control, the city's law states that she must be taken to the desert's heart and abandoned to her own fate, in one last attempt to restrain the bestial fury and return to human form or perish trying.
