A 3D model is based on a hand-and-a-half sword from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This type of sword can be wielded with one or two hands due to its hilt length. Before being acquired by William H. Riggs, it was part of Sir Samuel Rush Meyrick's collection, who founded modern arms and armor studies; he bought it from a London dealer in 1818. The sword was featured in a watercolor by French painter Eugène Delacroix during his visit to Meyrick's collection in 1825. Its origin remains uncertain, initially cataloged as possibly English in the early nineteenth century.
