Unfortunately, this part's dimensions are heavily influenced by individual hand size, resulting in younger students and individuals with smaller hands struggling to use a crutch effectively. Consequently, poor hand posture often develops as a result of this limitation. Available commercially, this essential component typically costs between $20-$30 and can be more expensive for custom designs commissioned from professionals. However, this design empowers users with access to 3D printers to create customized crutches at a significantly lower cost, under $0.50 worth of filament. Notably, the stem length has been reduced to 19 mm compared to the standard 24 mm, and the hand's palm rests only 13 mm from the crutch holder, as opposed to the typical 20 mm distance.
