A student-created 3D model, specifically designed for a classroom project, utilizes a low-poly approach to reduce visual complexity while maintaining detailed textures. Initially, the plan was to use Maya's default sphere as a base, but a technical issue arose when attempting to texture the group of triangles at each pole, making it challenging to achieve a seamless look. To overcome this hurdle, the artist opted for a quad sphere instead, which offers improved texturing capabilities and a more efficient workflow.
