Basic Ventilation Port For 2.5" Vacuum Cleaner Hose

This is a very basic ventilation port specifically made to mount to whatever and accept 2.5" vacuum cleaner hose. I designed this for my 3D printer's enclosure box to vent fumes outdoors using a length of the aforementioned hose. This design has no threading or stop, so you simply insert the end of the rough cut hose, then glue it in, duct tape it, or use whatever method works best for you. Six little 4mm mounting holes are provided for a firm connection to whatever you're ventilating. As an afterthought, I've included a simple enclosure box for a 60mm x 25mm CPU cooler type 12VDC fan and a 0.5mm thick gasket plate as well. The fan box is designed to bolt onto the lower side of the ventilation port, with the surface of whatever you're ventilating between the two, providing extra ventilation force if needed. The gasket might work out nicely printed in TPU, although I haven't tested that theory yet. When printing thin objects like this, always remember to let them cool completely before attempting to remove them from the print bed. Not doing so can severely warp the object, making it useless if the warp is bad enough. The overall design was made for THIS "dust collection hose" available on Amazon, which has an outside diameter of approximately 68mm. Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Infill: 100% Notes: The only thing that really matters with the ventilation port is strength and durability. If you're not working in a hot environment, you can use PLA or whatever material you like. Solid printing is probably a good idea unless you expect no strain on it. I built it pretty thick to take some abuse, but of course these are plastics we are working with here, especially PRINTED plastics, so I wouldn't exactly expect it to withstand an impact from a Greyhound bus without failing dramatically. That said, as it is, it should be able to tolerate a fair bit. The gasket, if needed, should be printed in TPU and allowed to cool totally before being removed from the print bed. The fan box can be printed right side up or upside down with little difference in support material use. Again, this was designed to be printed solid for strength, and depending on the heat of the ventilated environment, may require something more heat tolerant than PLA.
