Basic Trailer Project: Frame parts
thingiverse
The idea behind the Basic Trailer Project is to combine standard parts and create your own custom trailer design. It's built with screws and nuts, making it easy to change, upgrade, repair, or disassemble and build something entirely new. To get started, simply twist and turn the objects until the print fits your printer perfectly. I've already built a flatbed trailer and plan to make some improvements on this one, which will be a 20-foot container link trailer (picture borrowed from Fliegl). I'll break down this project into separate parts because I don't think it can be managed any other way. That's why it will take a couple of months or so to complete. The Basic Trailer Project is designed to fit my Tamiya Volvo FH12, but it should work with all trucks at 1/14 scale. Everything in the project is not 3D-printed, and some money will be required to purchase the necessary parts. However, I believe it will be worth it. I've bought parts from various places and will add measurements and e-links as needed. This trailer requires some tools and knowledge; it's not a toy that a 4-year-old can build. Some drilling and sanding are necessary. You can see the trailer I've already made on YouTube at the following links: https://youtu.be/RwmbYtY6y9Q, https://youtu.be/LUuadFUUwXA, and https://youtu.be/wwyBKh6TZkA. To build the frame, you'll need the following parts: * U-profile aluminum 20x10x1.5mm * U-profile aluminum 10x8x1.3mm You'll also need an M3 assortment of screws in various lengths, washers, and nuts (try to get some square nuts; they're quite handy).
