If there are any changes that people would like me to make to these switch boxes please post in the comments or contact me directly.

Update on the base, moved the outside screws closer in on the mount. Made a new base with the screw points inside the base. Added a top cover for a resistor pot, may fit an encoder as well.

I needed a switch for an led light over my desk. I have a pile of these little rectangular switch's so I made a little box with mount for the switch. It took me awhile to get it right as the alignment of the different parts seemed to change each time I changed some thing. I guess I'm just learning that every thing in 3d is connected. Switch opening dimensions are 12.5mm by 20mm and it is designed for a 21mm deep switch. Please comment if there is any issues and I will try to fix them as soon as I can.

Print Settings

Printer:

Anet A8

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

20%

Notes:

I used a skirt when printing these and I only had to slightly clean up the opening for the switch.

Post-Printing =============
You might have to clean the opening for the switch. The screws I used are 2.5mm and I gently thread them in to the base.

How I Designed This

I used tinkercad and it has been a learning experience. For some reason I can not get rid of the one small raised section on the base. In tinkercad it looks flat but when I print it there is a slight malformation. You can see it in the second picture. It no way impedes the usage of the switch base and is completely covered when it is closed up. I tried adding text on-off but it did not work? Anyone have pointers on this would be appreciated.

Category: Electronics
