These are basic screw toppers designed for common drywall, deck, and similar screw sizes. They come in handy when hanging something from them without wanting the screw head visible. For instance, they were originally inspired by the Star Topper for hanging stockings. A spray paint is highly recommended as it will ensure a more even and uniform layer without the need for multiple layers, which would be a hassle with acrylic brush paints requiring base coats to spread evenly.
