basic scale wind turbine
thingiverse
This is a basic scale wind turbine model, originally designed to fit into a miniature railway landscape. There are two versions: one measures approximately 300mm high and fits 1:120 scale models. The other version stands at about 250mm high and matches 1:160 scale models. The head and rotor of both versions are built to accommodate a small geared DC motor with a 3mm shaft (see pictures). My preferred gear ratio is 1:298, which causes it to spin quite slowly. The 300mm version consists of two main parts due to the limited height capabilities of my printer. All components can be easily assembled by simply pressing them together with slight force. I printed the rotor flat on the build plate with minimal support, as minor surface defects aren't a major issue.
