Basic Pulley

Basic Pulley

I've been pondering pulleys a lot lately, but couldn't find any that matched my design preferences, so I took matters into my own hands and created one from scratch. This self-made pulley should be able to handle a considerable load, though I haven't conducted any thorough testing yet. My plan is to utilize this pulley to suspend a hanging basket. You may need to enlarge the nut slightly if it becomes too snug on the bolt. I highly recommend printing the outer body in a horizontal orientation with internal supports for maximum strength and stability. Additionally, make sure to include plenty of walls and top and bottom layers. I'm not here to dictate how you live your life, but this approach will yield the best results. I've included two versions: a boxy design and a more rounded one that I think looks more visually appealing. Both designs serve the same purpose, though I theorize that the pretty version might be slightly less robust. They share identical dimensions and fit all components exactly alike. If you choose to print the pretty version, be prepared for additional support structures.
