Attempting to learn to model things to proper scale and learn the limitations of our 3D printer. This comes out to about 7.49cm Tall. I'll probably add a version of this that prints lying down as I think that will be slightly stronger and print better, but the tip would then need a support. This is for the original DS - Unsure if it will fit into the slot of any other system. If anyone prints this I would love to see pictures! Thanks! Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .1/Matter Controls "High" settings Infill: 100% Line Notes: First print came out rather hilariously bad in PLA with Matter Controls "Medium" settings. Upped it to High, kicked the infill to 100% (up from 25%) and changed the fill type from "Grid" to "Line" and it came out almost perfect. Also printed in ABS but unsure if that's part of what improved it or not. Fits in DS. Matter Control seems to need it to be set to "Meters" for it to be the right size. Cura seems to understand it perfectly, but didn't try printing from that yet. Post-Printing From Top to Bottom: -Nintendo DS Stylus -Second Print, "HIgh" with 100% infill and line style infill - -First print, default "Medium" Matter Control settings - Custom Section Progress... MARCH 26 UPDATE: Our printer arrived! And I found out my fancy Stylus is not, in fact, 7.49cm, but seems to be 7.49mm. Or maybe less. Pretty much shows up as invisibly tiny in the slicing program. I'll be fixing this in the next few days, and I'll update this text as I do. Sorry! MARCH 31 UPDATE: Today I sat down to fix it - since this computer isn't the one attached to the printer, I decided to install Cura since I had heard it was pretty good, and use that to test my model as I rescale. Popped the model into Cura, and it was fine. 7.49cm, no inverted faces. After a little bit of searching, it seems like Matter Control might be turning my model into mm - so 7.49mm tall. In theory scaling it up will correct this, but I don't know if those weird missing/inverted faces are a byproduct of the scale issue or an actual issue with how Blender exports STL files. APRIL 8TH UPDATE: Sorry for the delay, printer power supply went out. Warranty covered it and it's up and running again and... We printed out this stylus successfully!
