Basic Nerf LongShot Trigger Guard (V4)
thingiverse
While crafting a custom Nerf Longshot, I noticed it lacked a trigger guard. Instead of purchasing one for $15 or more from other sources, I opted to create my own basic design using TinkerCAD. Although it's not overly refined, the squarish appearance fits perfectly with the Longshot's aesthetic. The rest of this custom blaster is my Nerf ShortShot CS-5.5 Fanboy Edition, which I created due to its front barrel being less than ideal. As someone who isn't deeply involved in the Nerf modding community, I appreciate the creative mods that others have come up with. Combining old-school modding techniques with new-school 3D printing and adding my own custom paint style and basic modeling skills resulted in a unique creation for Longshot fans. I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone who has shared their ideas and creations online, allowing me to build upon them. Their creativity is truly impressive. Here are the details on the mods I used: The internal pump mod was created by EMEUTIER and can be found on the OzNerf site (https://oznerf.forumotion.com/t3605-longshot-ipai-internal-pump-action-intergration-with-light). I adapted his center bracket design, printing it in PLA at 30% infill and 10mm thickness. It works flawlessly. I also remeasured and created new upper spacers. Due to the increased thickness of the center bracket, the lower spacer is no longer needed. However, you'll still need to use aluminum for the bracket arms due to stress concerns. The internal pump mod's aesthetics are cool, but getting everything to work smoothly is a nightmare. I might try the reverse bolt sled idea on my next build if I ever attempt this again. You can find it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3579530 The "Conquerror" Picatinny Toprail by DevilZmods fits perfectly if the shell is cut correctly. Unfortunately, the part warped in the 110-degree sun while the paint was drying, causing a slight fit issue. You can find the Conquerror Picatinny Toprail here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3442571 The Side Picatinny rails by sigstoat are standard rails that I used for this build. You can find them here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11748 I designed the Basic Longshot Trigger Guard myself, as I didn't want to spend $15 on a part that I could create myself using TinkerCAD. It's not as fancy as some other designs, but it works well for me. You can find the Basic Longshot Trigger Guard here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3896159 The AcOG hybrid reflex scope for picatinny rail is a remixed version that I created to fix the issue with picatinny rails for this specific application. You can find it here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3793117 The original design is credited in the link. For the color palette, I used: * Camo Deep Forest Green by Rustolem * Camo Army Green by Rustoleum * Generic Flat Black * Generic Flat Silver
