I roughed out some basic design concepts based on hasty thoughts of what might actually work. Recognizing that I required a latching mechanism, a spring-based system, a button to trigger it all, and a way to encase everything in case of malfunction; I precisely crafted just that. With a firm concept solidified in my mind, I started modeling the design, which is exactly what the final product turned out to be. I have serious doubts about whether this item will print successfully, and I'm fairly confident it won't. Still, feel free to give it a shot if you're up for the challenge.
