Basic Fate / Fudge Dice
pinshape
A quick and simple fudge die (+, +, -, -, blank, blank) designed for roleplaying systems like Fate. I've found it's best to use them with a good printer, as the indents can be tricky to see. To combat this, I now print my dice in white PLA and fill in the lines with a fine point permanent marker. The color often bleeds a bit, but it adds a nice touch. I like to drop a small round bell into each die as they're printing, giving them more weight, randomness, and a pleasant sound. It's also handy for testing my printer - if it works, I get a new dice; if not, I can see where it went wrong. These dice often come out slightly off in height and width, about half a millimeter off. They use roughly one gram of filament and take around ten minutes to print. I've found they work just as well at different scales, printing them from 10mm to 22mm without any issues. I've printed these dice using PLA at 200 degrees with no infill or support. The bed temperature is set at 60 degrees, and I often print four at a time. For those who prefer a more rounded look, I've included an additional file with rounded corners. It prints just as well as the original, even with the same settings. In fact, one of these rounded corner prints is shown in the main image, alongside its white counterpart.
