Basic Case for Sony Xperia Z1 Compact
thingiverse
UPDATE to V4: I added a hole for the wrist strap in the bottom right corner, just like on the phone itself. The camera shutter button is now even easier to access. The frame protects your phone a bit when you lay it flat upside down, but be careful not to bump anything - it's not sticking out too far. UPDATE to V3: I deleted version 2 and replaced it with version 3, which has all the problems from below fixed. I haven't printed this new version yet because I'm waiting for some more filament, but it's coming soon! The case has been improved and there are now a few areas that need work too. UPDATE (FIXED): I tried out this design (file version #2) and here's what needs to change: 1. The secondary microphone is still blocked by the case - whoops! I made a mistake measuring things out and got it wrong by 1mm. 2. The front of your phone isn't protected, which isn't so great. I thought about it a lot, but then I realized that the frame just sits flush with the device instead of jutting out, which means you might drop something. UPDATE TO COME! As soon as I can print another case for my dad (since he got this new Sony Xperia Z1 Compact), and probably one for my wife since she wants to buy it too (yes, they really love that phone!). I just need some filament to finish off the details. By the way - I'd like it if my printer supported ABS instead of PLA... that would be great! Printing Done? When you print this thing out, you might want to get in there and clean up any leftover residue from the spaces between the frame bits.
