Basic Air Track Glider
thingiverse
This is an entry-level design for a 3D-printed air-track glider. The goal is to create a budget-friendly alternative to conventional metal gliders that can be easily produced with a Printrbot Play printer. The idea is to reduce the cost of physics education while opening up opportunities for customization. I'll be creating prototypes and refining the design, but I need your input - particularly from physics teachers and students - on how to make this project more practical. Your feedback is crucial in determining its viability. Please provide information on necessary mounts and mass adjustments, as these are essential components missing from the current model. If you have any other suggestions for reducing educational expenses, feel free to share them. Print Settings: Printer: Printrbot Play Rafts: Any Supports: Yes Resolution: Not a critical factor at this time Infill: 10% Notes: Experiment with different infill patterns to adjust the glider's mass. If you print this design, please post your results and share any data you collect!
