Bases for 15mm scale minis with ID bands

thingiverse

These are molds for 15mm scale miniatures, each measuring 16mm in diameter and featuring a groove to accommodate a standard-sized "loom band" rubber band from the craft store. The goal is to standardize the size of these bands, making them easily interchangeable across different miniatures. Each miniature can be painted with a color palette that resonates with its character's personality, ensuring visual cohesion on the tabletop. The rubber band serves as a unique identifier for each crew member, allowing players to differentiate between characters during gameplay and easily swap out members from one game session to another. The 3D-printed base design has two variations: a hollow version indented to compensate for the thickness of standard 15mm miniatures, which is then filled with glue and basing material; and a flat-top model that maintains an even surface. The miniature models shown in the accompanying photo are based on the hollow version. A companion case design, devoid of rubber bands, can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4252725
