Baseplate and mounting brackets for additional subwoofer/speaker in trunk of Tesla Model 3
thingiverse
The Tesla Model 3, when purchased in the cheaper "partial premium interior"-version does not come with a subwoofer installed. I designed this kit to make it easy to fit a subwoofer unit into a side compartment of the trunk, in which the factory subwoofer would be sitting. This space is available, the subwoofer is invisible after installation, and not a single part of the car needs to be irreversibly modified. Included in this file are three parts: 1.) A DXF-file with outlines for CNC-machining the baseplate 2.) A PDF containing the outline (beware: ISO-A1 page size, print to multiple sheets and arrange them for cutting using hand tools) 3.) One bracket with 2.5mm internal clearance, this is required for the upper left side 4.) One bracket with 3.5mm internal clearance, this is required for the lower left side The baseplate can be modified, of course, to accomodate combinations of a speaker and a separate amplifier of course. This would allow monitng speakers that require more depth. Depicted is a Phoenix Gold Z10150 woofer and amplifier unit. You can fix slightly larger and even deeper units without the need for further modification.
