My high-efficiency gas furnace and AC unit features drains for combustion condensate, humidifier overflow, and AC a-coil condensate that were initially secured to the cast-iron floor drain grate by the HVAC contractor using zip ties. However, this setup caused the condensate to flow back along the tubing on the floor, resulting in a messy situation. The concrete beneath remained consistently wet, fostering the growth of mildew and eventually leading to its deterioration. This replacement grate offers pre-drilled holes that allow for easy installation of elbows to direct water directly into the drain, thereby preventing any backflow along the tubing. For situations where only one drain line is present, I've also included a custom one-hole version specifically designed for friends with similar challenges.
