Support for the front of Baseball caps lacking built-in stiffeners. Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Low Infill: 20% Post-Printing Shapping the support After removing from the printer, lightly sand both sides to remove any irregularities. Then place the stiffener inside your cap behind the sweat band and push it into shape with one hand at the front of the cap and the other on the mesh inside the cap. Holding the mesh in the shape desired with your hand outside the cap, pass a heat gun over the mesh for a few seconds until the plastic looses stiffness. Put the heat gun down and slide your fingers along the surface of the mesh to keep it smooth as it cools. The plastic does not need to be hot, just quite warm, so don't overdo the heating. You can use the support unattached to the hat or use fabric glue to bind it to the inside the hat for a smoother front. I put fabric glue between the hat and the formed support, then folded the hat front back over wadded up plastic bags and used a rubber band around the hat to hold everything in place until dry. Be sure to test the adhesive first on an inconspicuous area to ensure it does not bleed through the fabric. Since PLA can get brittle after extended exposure to moisture you can prime the plastic to extend the useful lifetime of the mesh.
