My brother-in-law and partner, the electronic specialist with our printing company, approached me with a request to design a tool that would make it easier for him to remove electronic components from circuit boards by flipping them over and applying heat while gently tapping on them until they fell onto a tray below. This process was becoming increasingly cumbersome due to the small size of the boards. As I pondered his problem, a simple solution emerged: create a holder that could support 8mm threaded rods with palometa nuts and washers, allowing us to securely attach plates up to A4 in size. To fabricate this tool, we needed a metal rod cut into four pieces - two of 30 cm and two of 20 cm long. This device not only serves as a plate holder but also has the potential to support any surface with a thickness of up to 3mm, making it a versatile tool for various tasks. If you find that the initial design doesn't quite fit your needs, don't worry - simply print four additional supports to secure the ends of the rods without needing nuts.
