The base of a sumptuous collection of intricately crafted coffins designed for Pakepu, an esteemed water pourer (wAH-mw) residing on the western outskirts of Thebes. Both of his coffins boast elegantly simple and sparse paintings that adorn the walls with majestic religious scenes and meticulously inscribed bands of text, a testament to the artistic expression of this bygone era dating back to the 25th-26th dynasties of the Kushite-Late Period. Carefully unearthed from Thebes (Egypt) and graciously donated to the Fitzwilliam Museum in 1869 by Edward VII, Prince of Wales. A total of 354 photographs were captured using a Sony A6000 camera within the gallery's dimly lit setting, without the aid of artificial illumination.
