Baratza Encore Coffee Grinder Base Plate in two piecesThis base plate should help catch the ground coffee bits that fall out of the coffee grinder, and do a little bit to keep your countertop clean. When I pull the drawer out of my grinder, I have little bits of ground coffee go everywhere. My hope is to catch them in this tray and have less cleaning to do. Every week or so, I can remove the bottom of the tray, empty it in the compost, and do a simple wipe.The top plate has a hex mesh to allow grounds to fall through. The four round holes should line up with the rubber feet of the grinder and hold it in place.To keep this in place on your counter, you may want to add your own rubber feet to the bottom plate.Printing tipsbase plateI recommend printing the baseplate on a the smooth printing plate so your rubber feet can stick to it. Print with a 2 to 3 mm brim to reduce the chance of warping. I also recommend glue stick for a better release from the plate. Let the piece cool completely before removing it, otherwise the soft warm plastic may warp!top plateI printed this on the textured surface to give it a more finished appearance, but it will be fine on the smooth printing plate. You must use glue on the textured surface, but it's a good idea on the smooth surface for better release. Use a 2 to 3 mm brim to reduce the chance of warping.
