My dry box construction project has taken an unexpected turn. Rather than the standard IKEA style storage box, I've chosen to use a food-grade air-tight seal on a Lemon and Lime brand 4 L round plastic cake container from Cheap As Chips. The challenge lies in the fact that nothing is perfectly straight. The upper diameter with the lid is 9 mm larger than the base diameter. To utilize the container as a dry box on its side, I must take this difference into account for both it and the spool inside to stand vertically upright. To address the interior issue, I'll employ something similar to filamentry's TUSH (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2047554) with a 4 mm boost on the lower side. For the exterior, I've created this design. I needed to accurately model the entire container, consisting of 4 separate cylinders to cover various lid and seam features, including some unique cone functions to achieve the right gradient between the two different diameters. I then used this container model to subtract its shape from a rectangular base block, resulting in the STL posted here, with corner braces added for increased rigidity.
