For the Aztecs, the eagle stood as a supreme symbol for the sun. Nahuatl terms for ascending eagle and descending eagle pinpointed the solar body's rise and set. The majestic bird was also tied to human sacrifice, while representing one of two main military orders dedicated to the blazing orb. This object is part of "Scan The World".
