Barrel Tap

Barrel Tap

thingiverse

A barrel tap for an outside water barrel in your garden, although it may have other uses too. There are several parts to this and some you will need to print multiple times. | Part | # | Material | Notes | | ----------- | ----------- | ----------- | ----------- | | barrel_tap | x1 | PETG | This is the main part of the tap that inserts into the barrel | | barrel_tap_plug | x1 | PETG | The movable part that screws into the tap to stop the flow of water | | barrel_tap_nut | x2 | PETG | These nuts screw onto the barrel_tap part inside the barrel. You may get away with just one, but I used two for extra strength. | | barrel_tap_washer | x2 | TPU | These washers seal the tap to the barrel. Place one inside and one outside. Print with only 1 wall layer to make them extra squishy. | | barrel_tap_plug_washer | x1 | TPU | This small washer goes on the end of barrel_tap_plug and seals the plug against the inside of the tap to ensure no water escapes when the tap is closed. You will need to press it firmly into the plug body. Use a vice or press hard onto a flat surface. | | barrel_tap_spanner | x1 | PETG or PLA | A handy spanner that's just the right size! | Note: If your barrel is rough wood or uneven plastic you may need to use silicone sealant on the inside of the barrel. If it's smooth plastic the washers should be enough.
