Barrel Sponges on a ledge
sketchfab
Sponges are ideal subjects for photogrammetry as they remain stationary, eliminating the need to account for movement or fleeing animals. The two sponges visible are "Giant Barrel Sponges" (Xestospongia muta), and a portion of a third can be seen at the edge of the scan. To enhance understanding, this is part of a steep wall, with the ledge nearly horizontal in orientation. This model was created during a scuba diving excursion to Roatan, Honduras, utilizing a 15mm fisheye lens to capture under 50 photos. The resulting data was then processed using Agisoft Metashape Standard software.
