Barningham Moor 86 (Oct 2006)
sketchfab
Positioned east of How Tallon ridge, between two ridges on Barningham Moor, County Durham. Located south of the dense cluster of carvings west of the Romano-British settlement, this small stone is referenced 62 in the 1998 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale. NADRAP added the carving to ERA as ‘Barningham Moor 86’ in 2008. The team documented: “The motifs on this stone can be seen towards south end, and consist of two cups connected by a short groove. Both cups are irregular and may have been formed naturally.” There may be an arc around the larger cup, making natural formation highly probable.
