Carved stone positioned to the west of How Tallon ridge, on Barningham Moor, County Durham stands out. This stone sits at the center of a dense cluster of carvings west of the settlement. Listed as 61b in the 1998 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’, it was added to ERA by NADRAP as ‘Barningham Moor 79’ in 2008. All previous archives recorded only cups on the stone, but this 3D model reveals a cup with 3 or 4 worn rings / partial rings, and pairs of cups arcing around half the outer ring. This type of motif is typically seen in SW Scotland and may be the only example of this combination in England. ERA record: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=881 Historic England area scheduling: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1017441 This fairly noisy model is created from 3 stereo pairs captured by NADRAP Team 5 in October 2006. The imagery forms part of the full NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England
