Barningham Moor 69 (Oct 2006)
sketchfab
Found on sloping ground, just off the main settlement site below How Tallon ridge on Barningham Moor, County Durham. Recorded ‘50’ in Beckensall & Laurie’s 1998 publication 'Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’. NADRAP referenced this carving ‘Barningham Moor 69’ on ERA in 2008. The team describes the following: This carving consists of seven cups of varying size, mainly found towards the stones' southern end. Three central cups are small and may not be artificial. Towards the north end, a cup is enclosed by a large, rectangular, peck marked groove. The groove has a cup incorporated at the southern end. Motifs appear to be crudely carved.
