Rock with cup-like depressions found north of Eel Hill, on Barningham Moor, County Durham. First identified during NADRAP surveys on Barningham Moor, this stone is located within a scheduled area that contains numerous other carved rocks, a cairn field and rubble banks. Referenced as 'Barningham Moor 31' in ERA, the team record notes: "On the surface, eleven worn, cup-like depressions are scattered about the stone, although some could be interpreted as being in clusters. Proximity to other rock art makes this worthy of recording." While some of the depressions appear almost certainly natural, a 3d model reveals that others are cup-like and difficult to rule out. The imagery forms part of the ERA/NADRAP archive.
