Barningham Moor 30 (March 2007)
sketchfab
Carving found at Black Hill Gate area of Barningham Moor, County Durham. Located during NADRAP surveys while trying to identify an unreferenced carving marked on maps in the 1998 publication 'Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale'. Added to ERA by NADRAP as 'Barningham Moor 30'. It wasn't clear whether this stone or 'Barningham Moor 26' sitting a few metres southeast was the map reference. The team describes it this way: "This stone has three possible cups on the eastern half of the top surface. It's difficult to determine if they've been carved or are natural weathering of cement weakness. Two cups are irregular and shallow, the other is more cup-like." ERA record: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=829 Model created from five directional images captured by NADRAP Team 5 in March 2007. The imagery forms part of the ERA/NADRAP archive.
