The Scale Knoll Allotment area of Barningham Moor, County Durham, is home to an ancient carving discovered on a boulder situated within a small, partially enclosed cairn field, approximately 40m south of the track. This remarkable find was likely unearthed during NADRAP surveys and subsequently documented as 'Barningham Moor 17' in ERA archives in 2008. Notably, the rock features a single cup mark at its southeastern corner. The ERA record for this discovery can be found online at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=816. A 3D model of the carving was created from stereo pair imagery captured by NADRAP Team 5 in November 2006, which is part of the ERA/NADRAP archive.
