Carvings discovered on Barningham Moor's Scale Knoll Allotment, County Durham reveal an underground treasure.\nThis hidden carving is just one of many elusive panels found on Barningham Moor, especially during summer when dense vegetation conceals it from view. Mentioned in Beckensall & Laurie’s 1998 publication ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’, this carving was documented by NADRAP as ‘Barningham Moor 15’ in the ERA archives in 2008.\nHistoric England's records show at least 13 cups, two connected by a groove. The NADRAP team found additional cups and evidence of pecking. \nThe ERA record can be viewed at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=814\nHistoric England's scheduling information is available at https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1017410\nThis model was created from two stereo pairs captured by NADRAP Team 5 in November 2006. The images are part of the full NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England.
